We’re here to chew bubblegum and play THEY LIVE on 35mm — and we’re all out of bubblegum! This inventive and whip smart sci-fi satire, courtesy of genre master John Carpenter is the pitch-perfect take down of ‘80s consumerism. A drifter (played by pro wrestler Roddy Piper), discovers a plot by alien invaders to enslave the American masses via subliminal messaging. Aided by a special pair of sunglasses. Our hero must expose the conspiracy before it’s too late. As prescient today as it was five decades ago, the film also stars Keith David who goes toe to toe with Piper in one of cinema’s greatest fight scenes.
