The Mahoning Drive-In Theater, Pennsylvania's All-Retro, 35mm Cult Phenomenon, is taking its show on the road and teaming up with our Cult Cinema Club series!
Join us for a special screening of this ‘70s girl gang hit – SWITCHBLADE SISTERS on 35mm. Hosted by members of the Mahoning Drive-In crew, THE MAHONING ROADSHOW brings memories of warm summer nights to cold winter months, with live introductions, Q&A’s, and more fun, recreating a night at the drive-in for indoor audiences.
Following the cult success of Foxy Brown and Coffy, director Jack Hill filmed this racy, action-packed tale of The Dagger Debs; a fictional girl-gang loosely based on Shakespeare’s Othello. When Maggie rolls into town, Lace, the leader of the Dagger Debs, feels threatened. But their rivalry soon blossoms into friendship and they eventually team together to take down The Crabs, a new all-male gang of teenaged degenerates. This raunchy sexploitation flick was a drive-in phenomenon in the ‘70s, helping it earn its place as one of the most infamous films of the genre. Presented on a rare 35mm print courtesy of the Mahoning Drive-In

The Mahoning Drive-In Theater is the premiere outdoor celluloid throwback destination for film fans the world over. They are bringing their love of cinema under- the-stars and the drive-in vibe to east coast theaters, screening 35mm prints of retro classics and deep cuts, along with vintage trailers, snack bar ads, and intermission reels.
**Because we are operating with a single projector, this special 35mm screening will be presented with a short intermission of vintage drive-in intermission snipes to accommodate a reel change! **
