Dark City

A mind-bending sci-fi cult classic of the ‘90s – DARK CITY follows a man suffering from memory loss and on the run for a series of brutal murders. As he begins to unravel his true identity, he learns of a group of ominous pale men who control everything. Fresh off the success of The Crow, visionary filmmaker Alex Proyas crafts a twisted mystery that also incorporates elements of neo-noir, German expressionism and horror. Underappreciated upon release, elements of this film’s plot would draw direct comparisons to The Matrix, which was released just about a year later. Presented on 35mm.
