Made during the ’80s slasher boom, Canada’s CURTAINS follows a method actress who, after researching a role in a psychiatric ward, is committed there by her director. Meanwhile, a group of hopeful starlets arrive for a casting call at a snowy mountain retreat—only to be picked off one by one by a killer in an old-hag mask. A chilly cult classic featuring one of the genre’s most iconic kills: a slow-motion ice-skating murder on a snow-covered pond, complete with a sickle.
